Laboratory

CSH Consulting Laboratory is NATA accredited to analyse asbestos in bulk samples to Australian Standard 4964: Method for the qualitative identification of asbestos in bulk sample.

Based in Bellambi we are easily accessible to the whole of the Illawarra, Sydney, and South Coast, and can accept samples Australia wide.

Clients can choose to receive their Analysis Report from same day to five days turn around.  The Analysis Report will indicate the types of fibres found:

  • Amosite (brown asbestos)
  • Chrysotile (white asbestos)
  • Crocidolite (blue asbestos)

If the samples do not contain asbestos the Analysis report will indicate No asbestos detected with non-asbestos fibres found:

  • Organic fibres
  • Synthetic mineral fibres (SMF)
  • Unknown Mineral (UMF)

You can organise us to take samples to be tested, drop them off the laboratory (8:30 am – 4:00 pm) or post it using your preferred courier with the filled sample submission form; we only ask for you to follow our sampling guidelines to ensure that the sample is sufficient amount to get accurate result/s.

For homogeneous and non-homogeneous samples, we require a minimum size. The sample/s also must be in the full thickness of the material for the analyst to have sufficient amount to get the accurate result/s.

If you are an individual requesting analysis for your personal information, client and site address would be the same, if you are a company requesting on behalf of your client, fill in the client address with your company address and the site address would be your client’s.

How to send samples to us

All samples should be double bagged. Each sample should be placed in their individual bags labelled with the location they were taken from, site address, and the date. All bags are to be placed in a bigger bag/zip lock bag.

All samples can be brought to the laboratory (8:30am-4pm) or posted using the clients preferred courier with the filled sample submission form.
